Jay Newman

Jay Newman has been with The Athens Group for over 24 years serving as Chief Operating Officer where he focuses on the company’s financial affairs and development opportunities. With more than 32 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, Jay’s knowledge is highlighted through his primary role of managing the acquisition and financing of The Athens Group’s projects. 

Jay Newman received his undergraduate degree in applied economics from the University of California at Berkeley and his MBA and Juris Doctorate degree from Stanford University. Continuing his involvement in higher education, Jay is a guest lecturer at the UCLA School of Public Policy and Planning, a guest lecturer at the USC Masters of Real Estate Development program and a speaker at ULI, Meet the Money, Bisnow, the Southern California Development Forum and CLE International.
